The Access Project
The Access Project is a charity providing fantastic opportunity for students aiming to attend a selective university after Sixth Form. This charity provides academic tutoring and in-school mentoring to help you achieve your full potential.
Each year, 20 spaces are available on the programme for Year 12 A-Level students who can apply in September. If accepted, you'll be paired with a volunteer academic tutor and attend weekly one-to-one sessions at your tutor’s workplace.
Additionally, you will have the support of a dedicated University Access Officer, who will organise your tuition and provide essential guidance. By joining The Access Project, you’ll receive tailored support in a subject of your choice, helping to strengthen your future university applications. Learn more about the programme here.

The Elephant Group
At CFGS6, we are proud to offer the Elephant Access Programme, a unique mentoring opportunity designed to have a lasting impact on our students' futures. This programme supports students in securing places at competitive Russell Group universities by raising aspirations and encouraging applications to top institutions across the UK. Students can choose from three pathways: Technology, Healthcare, and Oxbridge. Each year, 30 students are selected based on their GCSE attainment to participate in this transformative programme, working with The Elephant Group throughout Year 12 and Year 13. By joining the Elephant Access Programme, you’ll receive specialised support and guidance, helping you to achieve your ambitions and unlock greater opportunities beyond Sixth Form.
The Reach Programme
The Reach Programme is designed to deepen students' subject knowledge, develop critical thinking skills, and guide them in choosing their university pathways. Tailored to individual interests and aspirations, it offers a rigorous range of academic enrichment activities both in and out of the classroom.
Master Classes extend learning and expose students to various professions, offering opportunities to interact with industry experts. Scholar Sessions encourage critical engagement with academic material, fostering analytical skills and the ability to construct arguments.
Regular mentoring sessions provide a supportive environment for reflection, celebrating achievements, and solving challenges. The programme offers comprehensive support for applications to competitive universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, through a strong network, preparation sessions, and visits.
The Oxbridge Programme, a component of the Reach Programme, specifically prepares students for applying to Oxford or Cambridge. It includes fortnightly sessions covering courses, structures, finance, and UCAS applications, helping students make informed choices and apply for bursaries.

We have a strong network with both Oxford and Cambridge, including sessions at school led by university ambassadors and visits to inspire our students. Our support includes small group and 1:1 sessions with an Oxford Law graduate who helps potential Oxbridge students refine their personal statements.
