Equality Objectives
At CFGS we are committed to promoting equal opportunities for all groups of students, staff and stakeholders. We are determined to transform lives through a Central education, by providing the highest quality education for all its students and empowering our young people to be, kind, positive and successful contributors to the world beyond school. To that end, we will continue to ensure that our curriculum, pastoral and extra-curricular opportunities promote and celebrate the diversity of our school community and the wider world. In addition, we will regularly review our policies and practice to ensure that this is the case.
We are publishing our public sector duty to the Equality Act 2010, in order to demonstrate our commitment to equality. The following are the objectives we have identified at Central Foundation Girls’ School in order to eliminate discrimination, harassment and advance equality in relation to disability, race, gender, religion or belief, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity, or marital status.
To be achieved to by 2026:
-
To develop a whole school approach to challenging discrimination and promote student awareness of how to champion the continuing fight for equalities in the wider world.
-
Devise an equalities strategic plan to support the school’s work on exploring and addressing issues related to forms of discrimination.
-
To continue to improve the progress and attainment of all students, and exceed national standards at the end of KS4 and KS5 and reduce potential barriers to progress for all students.
-
To continue to develop the culture of learning and respect within the school community and reduce all incidents of poor behaviour and / or bullying arising from prejudiced ideas related to special educational need and disability, health, race, socio-economic group, sexual orientation, religion or belief, pregnancy or maternity, marital status or civil partnership, sex, gender reassignment or age.
