Be Ready Course

The Be Ready course is a careers and employability programme that is designed to help students become more aware of the skills that employers value; their strengths and areas for development; as well as developing greater self-awareness, confidence and resilience.

The Be Ready course is made up of taught lessons and a set of short courses. There are 19 short courses, which students can access from the Be Ready careers platform. Students can complete the short courses during lessons or independently, working at their own pace. The topics covered on the Be Ready course include Personal Branding, A Guide to Assertiveness, Developing Communication Skills, and Developing Resilience. All the lessons provide students with practical ways to develop these skills and encourages them to share their experiences whilst learning from others. This involves practising the skills that they learn by working in pairs or as part of a group, giving presentations, and creating documents, such as CVs, covering letters and completing application forms, in preparation for future employment.
