A View from Above: CFGS DofE Silver Expedition
Last week, our CFGS students successfully completed their DofE Silver Assessed Expedition in the breath-taking South Downs National Park—a three-day adventure filled with challenge, teamwork, and unforgettable views.

“I almost gave up, but we made it. We supported each other through tough moments and pushed past our limits. 10/10 experience!”
— Year 12 Student
Part of the UK’s leading non-curricular programme, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award builds confidence, resilience and essential life skills. Our students hiked up to 18km a day, fully self-sufficient, navigating hills, changing weather, and even the occasional curious cow.
“It was really hard, but we got through it together. Best experience—just avoid cows with calves!”
— Humaira, Year 10“We got lost a few times, but made it—and being up in the clouds was amazing.”
— Zaina, Year 10

“Even with blisters and aching feet, it was an unforgettable experience with my friends.”
— Electra, Year 10“We climbed so many hills—but we survived! Thank you for the opportunity.”
— Frida, Year 10
“We saw so many beautiful things. Honestly, the vibes were great.”
— Laila, Year 10“I cried six times, but my friends helped me through it—and I’m glad I did it.”
