Central Foundaton Girls' School

Central Foundation Girls' School Sixth Form

Central Foundation Girls’ School received professional support and training throughout their Artsmark journey and developed partnerships with networks and venues including Tower Hamlets Artist Teacher Network, The Half Moon, Whitechapel Gallery and National Theatre.

The Artsmark assessor commended 'Central Foundation Girls’ School offers a broad range of arts and culture which is relevant and inclusive. Students have many opportunities to experience a variety of activities through timetabled teaching and other occasions such as visiting theatres, museums, taking part in workshops, attending musical concerts, engaging with community events and enjoy visits by authors.  There is a whole school commitment to promoting arts and culture and, where possible, links are made between subjects and the arts.’

On receiving the award, the Headteacher said: “We’re extremely proud of achieving our Artsmark Gold Award. We are committed to delivering a high-quality arts and cultural education and we look forward to continue to grow with Artsmark.”

Dr Darren Henley OBE, Chief Executive of the Arts Council, said: “I would like to congratulate Central Foundation Girls’ School on their Artsmark Award. Becoming an Artsmark school demonstrates that through offering a broad, ambitious and creative curriculum, young people have the opportunity to develop character and resilience, increasing their knowledge, curiosity and skills that will remain with them through to adult life.”
