Empowering Voices Through Digital Storytelling
As part of our ongoing collaboration with Goldsmiths University’s Critical Connections—a multilingual digital storytelling project empowering young people across primary and secondary schools to share stories from around the world—the girls from our Bangla Club have produced a compelling digital story that was shortlisted for showcasing at the Professor Stuart Hall Building at Goldsmiths on 13th June 2025.

Fifteen Year 7 and Year 8 students participated in the project, exploring the theme Community, Care, and Hope. Their story focused on the endangered Sundarbans—the world's largest mangrove forest in Bangladesh—and the recent habitation of the Rohingya people in the area. Through their film, the students aimed to raise awareness of environmental and social challenges, while encouraging dialogue around peaceful co-existence between plants, animals, and people.

Their presentation received heartfelt praise from the audience and from Professor Vicky Macleroy. Attending the film festival on 13th June gave the girls a unique opportunity to gain insight into inspiring entries from both the UK and around the globe.
