Snap Teen Summit 2025
Towards the end of the first half term, Y12 Media and Law Students as well as Y10 Media students took part in the Snap Teen Summit 2025 which was held in their office, located in 50 Cowcross St, London. The summit was split into 3 parts, each engaging and allowing students to ask questions to working professionals in a range of diverse positions. The tasks were informative, fun and created a communal environment for students to network and learn more about the tech world - enhancing innovation and curiosity of students.
The cameras pointed towards various audience members and placed filters on them, a little activity which made the whole experience much more interactive and engaging for us. Even members from CFGS had filters put on them, which we all found hilarious! The workers from Snapchat told us all about their AR features and how Snapchat isn't a social media company, it's an experience where you can communicate with others. At the end of the first conference, students and teachers were allowed to make comments, suggestions, or ask questions. The presenters were receptive to all comments and questions and left us with very fulfilling answers about what's to come in Snapchat's near future. And after all of that, we broke apart for a short break.

During the break, students from all kinds of schools were allowed to network and communicate, which led to meaningful conversations and interesting chats about what each school is like, why they chose their subjects, and how this summit could benefit them all.
By the middle of the day, we had the good fortune to meet members of the legal, sales and tech teams. They provided a clear overview of their roles and responsibilities and the pros and cons of working at Snapchat. Their stories painted a picture of a creative, diverse and empowering environment – one without the rigidity, stiffness and obstructive formality of traditional work spaces.
Lastly, we were given the opportunity to create a poster for a product of Snapchat which allowed us to use one of the 3 Snapchat values - creativity. As a group, we created our poster filled with hashtags and drawings to represent a product of Snapchat. With lots of encouragement, especially the encouragement of a cash prize, we were able to complete it in the 40 minutes given. This activity allowed us to think creatively about what would appeal not just to an audience but judges too. We swiftly moved on to a Q&A session with the director of communication which gave an interesting insight into the life in Snapchat. She provided advice that we could all treasure and use for our futures. This led to the revealing of the winners of the marketing competition. In 1st place was our group, and as a result, we received a certificate and an Amazon gift card as a prize! They gave us valuable advice throughout the day that we will be able to take away and use throughout our lives.

To conclude, the students were awarded prizes for their amazing questions, the winning teams of the marketing challenge (CFGS among them) were given gift cards and every student who took part went home with a Snapchat plushie friend! They provided complimentary food and drinks and allowed students to take pictures with their sophisticated technology and decor of the well-built office. We hope to take part in another Snap Team Summit in 2026!
