Student Achievement Award Ceremony
On 10th July, we celebrated student success at our annual Achievement Awards Ceremony. Students were chosen by their teachers, Heads of Faculty, Heads of Department, Heads of Year or by specialist staff in recognition of their academic endeavours, contributions to the school community and personal achievement in the face of challenging circumstances. Students were nominated for awards in one or more of the following categories:
- Contribution to School Life
- Contribution to Central Plus
- Academic Excellence
- Academic Progress
- Excellence in Student Leadership

We are privileged to have many organisations who sponsor some very special awards, as well as awards named in honour of people significant to CFGS:
- The Worshipful Company of Barbers Awards for Excellence in French and Spanish, Humanities, Maths and Science
- The Worshipful Company of Surveyors Lion Heart Award for Overcoming Adversity and Challenges in Life to Succeed
- The Worshipful Company of Bowyers who sponsor our awards for Contribution to School Life
- The Jacquelyn McLeod Prize for Excellence in Food Technology
- The Peter Seaton Awards for Drama and Music
- The Clive Arding Award for the Greatest Contribution to the Life of the School in CFGS6
- The Clark-Heath Prize for Outstanding Development and Progress
- The Irene Buckman Prize for Going on to Study Arts in Further Education

During the ceremony over 180 students received awards, supported by an audience of their parents, CFGS staff, Governors, Trustees and VIP guests who shared in celebrating their successes.

All were treated to an inspiring keynote speaker in Sharla-Jaye Duncan, CEO of Journi, an organisation whose mission is ‘…to improve the career progression of high-potential black, female or low-household-income professionals across their entire career lifecycle…’. We thank her, along with all of the sponsors of our awards, whose ongoing support of CFGS students is so important.
